Remote Healthcare Billing Specialist - Philippines — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is fully remote, which is great news for location-independent workers — but there is a significant catch for nomads: the required hours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM PDT (Pacific Daylight Time), Monday through Friday. That's a fixed, non-negotiable 40-hour window, making this role sync-heavy and timezone-restrictive.
For a Philippines-based worker (UTC+8), PDT hours fall between midnight and 8:00 AM local time — a graveyard shift. If you are traveling through Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Bali), the same difficulty applies. Nomads based in East Africa or Eastern Europe would face similarly challenging overlap. This role is best suited to someone settled in the Philippines or a similar timezone who is comfortable with overnight hours.
At $6–$7/hour USD (~$240–$280/week full-time), this translates to roughly $1,040–$1,210/month. That's workable in Medellín, Colombia (~$800–$1,200/month budget) or Chiang Mai, Thailand (~$700–$1,000/month) but tight in Lisbon, Portugal (~$1,500–$2,000/month). For most Filipino nomads staying in the Philippines, this is a reasonable income.
- No coworking or equipment stipends are listed — you must supply your own gear.
- VPN access is optionally provided, useful for secure client work on the go.
- The strict KPI of 45 claim follow-ups/day limits flexibility during work hours.
