Traveler-Friendly Insight

This telehealth physician role is fully remote, making it theoretically location-flexible — but there is one critical constraint: the required schedule is Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM EST. That's a strict 9-hour window anchored to Eastern Standard Time, meaning you must be available and productive during those hours regardless of where you are.

For digital nomads, this schedule is workable from many popular destinations depending on your base:

  • Medellín, Colombia (COT, UTC-5): EST alignment is near-perfect — this is effectively your local business hours. An ideal home base given the hiring preference for Colombia.
  • Mexico City, Mexico (CST, UTC-6): Shift runs 8 AM–5 PM locally — very manageable and one of the listed eligible countries.
  • Buenos Aires, Argentina (ART, UTC-3): Shift runs 10 AM–7 PM locally — still reasonable. Argentina is explicitly listed as an eligible country.
  • Lisbon, Portugal or Bangkok, Thailand: These popular nomad hubs are not on the allowed-countries list, and the EST hours would be extremely difficult (2 AM–11 AM in Lisbon; 8 PM–5 AM in Bangkok).

The role is restricted to Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, and Peru. Nomads must be physically (and likely legally) based in one of these countries. No travel-specific perks like coworking stipends or equipment allowances are mentioned. Weekly payment cadence is a practical plus for cash-flow management while abroad.

Outsourcing Staffing Advantage is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Medical Doctor (MD) or equivalent qualified physician to support telehealth operations by conducting comprehensive patient evaluations, reviewing medical histories, assessing symptoms, identifying potential medical conditions, and providing appropriate clinical recommendations.

The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed patient assessments, reviewing medications and existing diagnoses, identifying potential health concerns, and ensuring patients receive accurate and appropriate medical attention.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of medical terminology, diagnoses, common diseases, and medications, including their indications, dosages, contraindications, and potential side effects.
  • Assess patients' medical conditions and determine appropriate treatment options based on their symptoms, medical history, and clinical findings.

  • Review current medications, identify potential drug interactions, and evaluate whether treatment adjustments may be necessary.
  • Identify warning signs, urgent medical conditions, and symptoms that require immediate medical attention or further evaluation.
  • Review laboratory results, diagnostic reports, and previous medical records to support accurate clinical assessments and treatment recommendations.
  • Enter all patient information, clinical findings, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations into the medical documentation system with a high level of accuracy.

  • Maintain detailed and confidential medical documentation while complying with HIPAA and applicable healthcare privacy standards.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, explaining medical conditions, treatment recommendations, and medication instructions clearly.
  • Stay up to date with U.S. healthcare terminology, clinical guidelines, common medications, treatment protocols, and medical documentation standards.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD, MBBS, or equivalent) from an accredited medical institution.
  • Previous clinical experience as a Medical Doctor, General Practitioner, Primary Care Physician, or in a similar patient care role.
