RETO Film Case, Silver Lid, Silver Body / 35 mm / 120 film

$22.99

The body is made of aluminum and the cap is made of steel, KODAK film cans were widely used in the 1970s for film packaging, only later changed to grey-top plastic containers. The canisters were painted colorful and carried a lot of joyful memories. It was indeed a big part of film photography history. We are inspired by the selection of materials and colors and wish to recreate a new version of the KODAK Film Case, only to make it even more practical and stylish.

Our Review

RETO Kodak Film Case (Silver Lid, Silver Body) — a low-key metal case for 35mm and 120 rolls

The gist: The all-silver "Radiant Case" version of Kodak's reissued metal canister — same protection as the brighter colorways, in a more understated finish for travelers who don't want a loud accessory.

  • Metal construction: aluminum body with a steel cap, tougher than the plastic or cardboard packaging most film ships in.
  • Holds 5 rolls: per RetoPro's own specs (148 x 56 x 47mm, 160g), enough for a full day's shooting in 35mm or 120 format.
  • Understated finish: the silver-on-silver colorway blends into a camera bag better than the yellow/red heritage colors, useful if you'd rather your gear not stand out while traveling.
  • Keeps film protected: Exibart Street's coverage of the case notes it "protects your film rolls dry and clean," organizing multiple rolls in one place instead of loose in a pocket.

Exibart Street quotes RetoPro's own description of the goal — recreating the classic Kodak case "even more practical and stylish" — which tracks with a finish built to look good and hold up to daily travel handling.

Best for: travelers who want durable film organization without a flashy accessory. Skip it if: you like the bold heritage yellow/red colorway for the nostalgia factor — the silver finish is a more neutral, lower-profile choice. Runs ~$23 — check the current price before buying.
