Traveler-Friendly Insight

Location Constraints: This role is explicitly restricted to the United States and Canada. While fully remote, you must be based in one of these two countries — making it unsuitable for nomads currently residing outside North America.

Schedule Flexibility: This is a 40-hour/week full-time role with a significant catch: tutoring sessions are scheduled around student availability, meaning you must be available on weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends in North American timezones (ET/CT/MT/PT). This is not async-friendly — real-time availability during US/Canada peak hours is required, severely limiting timezone flexibility.

Visa Considerations:

  • For US residents: No specific visa concerns for citizens/permanent residents; work authorization required.
  • For Canadians: Standard employment eligibility applies.
  • Digital nomad visas in destinations like Portugal, Mexico, or Costa Rica are generally incompatible with this role's requirement to be based in the US or Canada.

Practical Nomad Assessment: This role is best suited for settled remote workers in North America, not globe-trotters. The evening and weekend scheduling demands anchor you firmly to US/Canada timezones. Someone based in, say, Lisbon (ET+5) or Bangkok (ET+11) would face 3–4 AM sessions — effectively unworkable. Look for this role only if you are a North American-based remote professional seeking a stable full-time position.
