Traveler-Friendly Insight

Ideal for Digital Nomads: This role is one of the most nomad-friendly you'll find. Remote.com is a fully async-first company — there are no fixed meeting hours, no required timezone, and no office. You genuinely plan your workday around your life, not around a calendar full of calls.

Timezone & Schedule Flexibility: Because the tax compliance work spans EMEA, APAC, and the Americas, you'll naturally collaborate across timezones asynchronously. There's no single timezone anchor, which means you can base yourself anywhere without friction — whether that's Lisbon, Chiang Mai, or Buenos Aires.

Visa Considerations: With the role open globally, many popular nomad hubs offer straightforward options: Portugal's Digital Nomad Visa (D8), Thailand's LTR Visa, or simply a tourist visa for short stays in countries like Mexico or Indonesia while working remotely for a foreign employer.

Salary vs. Cost of Living: The $29,900–$67,300 USD range is geo-adjusted. At the higher end:

  • Lisbon, Portugal: ~$2,500/mo living costs — upper-band salary is very comfortable
  • Bangkok, Thailand: ~$1,200–$1,800/mo — even mid-range salary offers strong purchasing power
  • Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,000–$1,500/mo — excellent quality of life at most salary levels

Nomad-Relevant Perks: Home office budget & IT equipment, a coworking space allowance, and flexible PTO all directly support a location-independent lifestyle. The learning budget also helps you stay current on international tax law — a portable, high-value skill.
