Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is listed as US-based with no explicit remote or office designation stated, though Vonage is a global cloud-native company with a history of flexible work arrangements. The job description does not mention required office attendance, which suggests some degree of location flexibility — however, the role involves representing Vonage at strategic forums and industry events, implying regular travel to client and partner sites, likely within the US.

Timezone considerations: No specific timezone is mandated, but as this is a US pay transparency role, core business hours will likely align with US Eastern or Pacific time zones, making sustained nomadic work across APAC or EMEA challenging without overlap discipline.

Visa & location practicality: The role is US-compensated and likely requires US work authorization. Digital nomad visas in countries like Portugal, Spain, or Costa Rica are less relevant here unless you already hold a US work visa and plan to travel during non-meeting periods.

  • Lisbon: A monthly cost of ~$2,500–$3,500 for a comfortable lifestyle; the $187K+ salary would provide strong financial runway, but frequent US travel would add friction.
  • Medellín: ~$1,500–$2,200/month; very affordable but similar time zone challenges for US east-coast stakeholder calls.
  • Bangkok: ~$1,500–$2,500/month; significant timezone gap (11–13 hours off US) makes real-time C-suite engagement difficult.

Bottom line: this role is best suited for US-based professionals who travel domestically for client meetings. It is not optimized for full-time digital nomads.
