Remote NAS Sales Specialist at Rubrik - US Remote — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is listed as Remote Central US, which signals Rubrik expects candidates to operate within US Central timezone hours. While officially remote, the nature of enterprise sales — customer calls, demos, proof-of-concept sessions, and business reviews — strongly implies a structured schedule aligned to US business hours (CT/MT). This is not a fully async-friendly role; expect regular Zoom calls with prospects and internal teams during standard 8am–5pm CT hours.
For digital nomads, the timezone constraint is the primary consideration. Working from Lisbon (WET/WEST) would mean a 6–7 hour ahead offset, making morning overlap manageable but afternoon calls challenging. Bangkok (ICT) at +12 hours from CT is effectively incompatible without significant schedule compromise. Medellín (COT) is only 1 hour behind CT, making it one of the most practical LATAM nomad bases for this role.
- Visa considerations: As a US-remote role, employers typically require US work authorization. Digital nomad visas in other countries would not solve work authorization requirements unless you already hold US legal work status and are simply traveling temporarily.
- Travel-relevant perks: No specific perks (coworking allowances, travel stipends) are mentioned in the posting.
- Bottom line: This role suits US-based nomads who travel within the Americas or Atlantic-adjacent time zones and can maintain customer-facing availability during Central US business hours.

About the Team & Role
Rubrik's Product Line Sales organization drives focused growth across Rubrik's specialized workloads, including our Unstructured data protection and security portfolio. This team partners closely with core Account Executives, Sales Engineers, and Customer Success to bring deep product and technical expertise into every Unstructured opportunity — from first conversation through technical validation to close.
We're hiring an NCD Product Line Sales Specialist to own and accelerate Rubrik's Unstructured data protection business within a defined territory. This is a highly technical, quota-carrying overlay role: you'll be the subject-matter expert who can go deep on NAS storage architectures, file-generating applications, backup and recovery mechanics, and the security behind protecting these growing assets — and use that fluency to win deals against competitive point solutions. The ideal candidate has sold in this exact space before, at a company like NetApp, Dell, Qumulo, Vast, EverPure, Komprise, Superna, etc.
What You'll Do
- Own the NCD product line number: partner with core Account Executives to identify, qualify, and close NCD data protection and security opportunities across net-new and existing accounts.
- Lead with technical credibility: articulate Rubrik's NCD architecture, security posture, and the gaps in storage native shared snapshot protection in a way that resonates with both technical and business buyers.
- Drive technical discovery and validation: run or co-lead discovery calls, demos, and proof-of-concept engagements for NCD.
- Win competitive deals: build and defend positioning against competition or "do-nothing", translating technical differentiation into business value.
- Build territory and account plans: develop a coverage strategy in partnership with core sales, SE, and channel teams to maximize NCD attach and expansion within the install base.
- Engage multiple stakeholders: present to IT administrators, security and compliance teams, and executive economic buyers, tailoring the message to each audience.
- Forecast with discipline: maintain accurate pipeline and forecast data in Salesforce and participate in regular business reviews.
- Stay current: maintain deep knowledge of Rubrik's NCD roadmap, storage ecosystems, and the competitive landscape.
Experience You'll Need
- Storage sales experience: 3+ years of quota-carrying sales experience selling storage infrastructure (file preferred) with a deep understanding of these technologies.
- Directly relevant background: experience at a NAS or file storage vendor such as NetApp, Dell, Qumulo, or VAST (or a comparable company like Komprise, Superna, or EverPure) is strongly preferred.
- Genuine technical depth: comfortable discussing NAS architectures (NetApp ONTAP, Dell PowerScale/Isilon, Qumulo, VAST), SMB/NFS protocols, snapshots and replication, file-generating applications, and ransomware and compliance requirements for unstructured data without relying solely on a Sales Engineer.
- Proven technical selling motion: a track record of running or co-leading technical discovery, sizing, and proof-of-concept engagements for storage or data protection solutions, not just handing off to a technical resource.
- Consultative approach: comfortable navigating complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles across storage and infrastructure teams, security, and executive buyers in mid-market and enterprise accounts.
- Overlay/specialist experience: prior success working in a platform-selling model alongside core Account Executives, Sales Engineers, and Customer Success.
- Track record: consistent history of quota attainment and strong pipeline generation.
- Education: bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on familiarity with enterprise NAS platforms, data management or tiering tools, and backup and recovery workflows for large unstructured data sets.
- Experience selling a data security or resiliency platform that spans on-premises, cloud, and SaaS workloads.
- Existing relationships with storage, infrastructure, security, or compliance buyers in target accounts.
