Traveler-Friendly Insight

Remote Availability: This role is listed as 100% remote but is restricted to select US locations. The job posting does not specify which US states are eligible, and the hybrid option is only available for Chicago, IL-based candidates. If you are a digital nomad, you will need to maintain a US address and likely US employment eligibility — international nomads or those living abroad full-time are not eligible for this role.

Timezone & Schedule: The posting does not specify required hours or timezone windows, but as a non-exempt (hourly) classified role at a US-headquartered company, expect core overlap with US Central or Eastern business hours. This limits flexibility for nomads in APAC or European timezones.

Async Friendliness: The role involves managing multilingual design files and workflows — tasks that are largely project-based and potentially async-friendly. However, collaboration with design and localization teams implies some synchronous communication requirements.

Visa Considerations: Since this is a US-based remote role, you would need to be authorized to work in the US. Digital nomad visas in destinations like Portugal, Thailand, or Colombia would not grant US work authorization.

  • Lisbon: Cost of living ~$2,000–$2,500/month — viable on a US salary, but work authorization is the blocker.
  • Bangkok: ~$1,200–$1,800/month — very affordable, but same US work authorization issue applies.

Bottom line: this role suits US-based remote workers who want location flexibility within the US, not international nomads.

Headquarters: Remote, US
