Traveler-Friendly Insight

Remote-Friendly Reality: This is a fully remote role explicitly designed for distributed work, making it a solid fit for digital nomads based in Latin America. Oowlish operates with clients in the US and Europe, which typically implies working overlap hours with US Eastern or Central time zones — expect some synchronous meetings during US business hours.

Timezone Considerations: LATAM-based nomads in Colombia (UTC-5), Mexico (UTC-6), or Argentina (UTC-3) will have natural overlap with US clients. If traveling to Southeast Asia or Europe, the time difference could make synchronous work challenging — clarify async flexibility before committing.

Visa & Mobility: The job targets LATAM candidates specifically. A valid US visa and willingness to travel to the US are listed as nice-to-haves, suggesting occasional client-side visits. This makes the role particularly appealing for nomads who want to maintain base flexibility in LATAM while preserving the option for US trips.

Cost of Living Comparison: With competitive (undisclosed) senior DevOps compensation, consider these nomad-friendly LATAM bases:

  • Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,200–$1,800/month comfortable living; strong tech community
  • Buenos Aires, Argentina: Very low cost if paid in USD; vibrant city with coworking spaces
  • Mexico City, Mexico: ~$1,500–$2,200/month; excellent infrastructure and nomad scene

The fitness perk (Total Pass) is location-dependent and may not be accessible while traveling outside your home country.
