Traveler-Friendly Insight

This Sr. CRA role at Alimentiv has a notable remote-work component — monitoring visits can be conducted remotely or on-site — but the 40–60% travel requirement is a defining constraint. This is not a desk-bound, fully async role; it demands regular physical presence at investigative clinical sites, which limits true location-independent flexibility.

Timezone & Schedule: Based in the Netherlands, the role likely operates on Central European Time (CET/CEST). Cross-functional collaboration with a global CRO means some schedule flexibility exists, but site visits and sponsor interactions will anchor you to regional business hours. Async-friendly for administrative tasks; sync-heavy for monitoring and site coordination.

"Working While Visiting" Perk: Alimentiv explicitly offers a "Working While Visiting" program — up to 4 weeks per year — which is a rare and genuine nomad-friendly benefit. This allows you to work from another country temporarily without using PTO.

Visa Considerations: Based in the Netherlands (EU), EU/EEA citizens have full freedom of movement. Non-EU professionals may need a Dutch work permit or highly-skilled migrant (kennismigrant) visa. Short-stay visits to EU nomad-friendly countries (Portugal, Spain, Croatia) are viable during the 4-week "Working While Visiting" window.

  • Lisbon: Monthly costs ~€1,800–2,500 — very affordable if you're earning a Dutch CRO salary.
  • Barcelona: ~€2,000–2,800/month — comfortable with a mid-senior CRO salary.
  • Amsterdam base: Higher COL (~€2,500–3,500/month) but strong pharma/CRO ecosystem for networking.

Bottom line: this role suits a travel-tolerant professional who enjoys client-site fieldwork, not a full-time nomad seeking location independence.
