Traveler-Friendly Insight

Remote-Friendly, But With Caveats: This role is officially open to remote candidates across the United States, which is a positive signal for location-independent professionals. However, candidates within 40 miles of Scottsdale, AZ are expected onsite four days per week — so if you're nomadic and plan to spend time in the Phoenix metro area, be aware of that obligation.

Timezone Constraints: The role involves managing a distributed team spanning India and the US, which means you'll likely need to accommodate early morning or late evening calls to overlap with IST. This makes pure async work difficult — expect some fixed meeting windows, likely US business hours plus occasional early mornings (6–8 AM MT) for India overlap. Fully timezone-agnostic nomad lifestyles are not ideal for this role.

Visa Considerations: This role is restricted to US-based candidates only, given its focus on U.S.-centric healthcare regulations (HIPAA, FHIR). Digital nomad visas in countries like Portugal or Costa Rica won't qualify you — you must be legally authorized to work in the US. If you're a US citizen or green card holder traveling abroad, you could technically work remotely while abroad on a tourist visa, but the role's collaboration demands make extended overseas stays challenging.

Salary vs. Nomad Cost of Living:

  • Lisbon: $105K–$160K USD goes very far; monthly costs ~$2,500–$3,500 for a comfortable lifestyle.
  • Bangkok: Even more favorable; ~$1,800–$2,500/month comfortably.
  • Medellín: ~$1,500–$2,200/month — excellent purchasing power on this salary.

No travel-specific perks (coworking stipend, meetup budget) are explicitly mentioned in the posting.

Location: While this role is open to remote candidates across the United States, team members located within 40 miles of our Scottsdale headquarters (9451 E. Via de Ventura, Scottsdale, AZ 85256) are expected to work onsite four days per week to support collaboration, speed, and execution. Specific scheduling and flexibility will be guided by your leader to support both team collaboration and individual productivity.
