Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is listed as 100% remote from select locations — however, the key caveat for digital nomads is that "select locations" appears to refer to locations within the United States only. The posting is US-headquartered, references the E-Verify program (a US federal employment eligibility system), and the hybrid option is specifically for Chicago, IL. This strongly implies the role is restricted to US-based candidates.

Timezone flexibility: The posting does not specify fixed hours, and PR/social media support work is often partially async-friendly. However, as an intern reporting to a Communications Director, expect some overlap with US Central or Eastern business hours for team check-ins and collaboration.

For aspiring remote workers: If you are a US citizen or permanent resident currently located abroad, this internship may not qualify due to E-Verify requirements tied to US employment law. Always confirm work authorization requirements before applying from outside the US.

  • Duration: Fixed 6-month contract (Fall/Winter) — not a long-term nomad-friendly arrangement
  • No salary disclosed — as a paid internship, expect entry-level compensation, likely not sufficient to sustain a nomad lifestyle in higher-cost destinations
  • No travel perks (equipment stipend, coworking budget) mentioned

In summary, while listed as remote, this internship is best suited to US-based students or recent graduates, not location-independent travelers.
