Traveler-Friendly Insight

Important caveat for nomads: Hightouch's E-Verify participation means you must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. — this role is effectively limited to U.S.-based workers (citizens, green card holders, or valid work visa holders). The location_hint says "Anywhere in the World," but the E-Verify requirement and North America HQ framing make this a U.S.-work-authorization role in practice.

Schedule flexibility: The role involves real-time customer support via Intercom, Slack, phone, and email, which implies some fixed availability windows rather than fully async work. North American business hours coverage is almost certainly expected, limiting timezone flexibility significantly. Digital nomads in Southeast Asia (Bangkok, Bali) or South America would face challenges aligning with U.S. customer hours.

  • Lisbon, Portugal: At $85K–$110K USD, you'd live very comfortably — but the EST/PST overlap is only 5–8 hours, making real-time support shifts challenging.
  • Medellín, Colombia: Same timezone as EST — excellent overlap for North American support hours. Cost of living ~$1,500–$2,000/month, leaving strong savings potential.
  • Mexico City: CST alignment, affordable living (~$1,800–$2,500/month), and proximity to the U.S. makes this a practical base for U.S.-authorized remote workers.

No travel-specific perks (coworking stipend, equipment allowance) are mentioned. U.S. work authorization holders living abroad should verify tax implications before relocating.

About the Role

The Customer Success Engineering role is demanding and requires strong organizational skills and an ability to multitask. You'll work directly with all users to ensure they can get the most value from the platform. This may include answering questions in Intercom, Slack, on the phone, or through email. The nature of the work is technical and requires an understanding of how to read API documentation, how the standard suite of SaaS tools work (e.g. CRMs, ESPs, ERPs, etc.), and the basic building blocks of how customers use data.

The Customer Success Engineering role is also designed to provide broad exposure across the organization, including tight collaboration with Technical Account Managers, Solutions Engineers, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations. The role is perfect for strong team players that want to have impact across the company and with our customers.

About You

The ideal candidate is hungry to learn, excited to cross-functionally collaborate, driven to deliver optimal customer experiences, and is excited to learn from and teach others. Hightouch is still a startup, which translates to pitching in across the organization and wearing many hats as we grow. You will be excited for an opportunity that allows you to be an important member of an exceptional company, be willing to ask questions when you're unsure, and take initiative when you're passionate about a topic, solution, or process.

You'll need to be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, willing to challenge the status quo, and a strong team player. Everyone at Hightouch plays an important role in our growth, and this position is at the forefront of our efforts to drive an exceptional experience for every user. We're of the firm belief that keeping customer promises is how we'll win, and we're excited for this role to play an integral part of the customer journey.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in a customer-facing role (does not necessarily need to be technical)
  • Technical background either through experience or education
  • Conversant in SQL or willing to learn the basics and a few more advanced topics
  • Strong discovery and interpersonal skills
  • Intellectual curiosity, high ambition, and humility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing work environment
  • Thorough understanding of the technology industry and its players

The salary range for this position is $85,000–$110,000 per year, which is location independent. We also offer meaningful equity compensation in the form of ISO options and offer early exercise and a 10-year post-termination exercise window.

E-Verify Statement

Hightouch participates in E-Verify. After you join the team, we'll verify your eligibility to work in the U.S. by submitting information from your Form I-9 to the Social Security Administration and, if needed, the Department of Homeland Security. This process happens post-hire only — we never use E-Verify to pre-screen applicants.
