Traveler-Friendly Insight

Geographic Restrictions — Read Carefully: This role is explicitly remote but limited to the United States, Canada, and select South American countries. Visa sponsorship is not available, meaning you must already have work authorization in one of these regions. Pure location-independent travelers without existing authorization in these jurisdictions cannot apply.

Schedule & Async Culture: Doximity notes it has been a distributed team for years (~65% distributed), which is a strong signal of async-friendly processes. However, no explicit timezone window is stated. Given the US/Canada/South America scope, you'd likely be expected to overlap with US business hours (Pacific to Eastern), making GMT-8 to GMT-5 the sweet spot.

Salary vs. Nomad Cost of Living: The $165K–$221K USD annual range is generous even for senior engineers. Quick comparisons:

  • Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,500–2,500/mo comfortable living. This salary offers substantial savings potential if you're based here (and Colombia qualifies as a South American location).
  • Buenos Aires, Argentina: ~$1,200–2,000/mo. Exceptional purchasing power at this pay grade.
  • Lisbon, Portugal: Unfortunately outside the allowed countries for this role.

Perks Relevant to Remote Workers: A home office stipend is explicitly listed, which helps with ergonomic setups or coworking memberships. No travel stipend or meetup budget is mentioned, but the distributed culture suggests occasional team gatherings may occur.

Headquarters: San Francisco, CA or Remote (U.S.)

Location: This role is remote in the United States, Canada, or some countries in South America.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
