Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is officially listed as Remote, USA — but it comes with a critical hard constraint: you must be a U.S. citizen physically residing on U.S. soil and hold an active Secret or Top Secret security clearance. This is a firm legal requirement tied to supporting U.S. Federal Government and Intelligence Community clients, not a policy preference.

What this means in practice for location-independent workers:

  • No international remote work: You cannot perform this job from Lisbon, Bangkok, Medellín, or anywhere outside U.S. territory. The citizenship and residency requirement is non-negotiable.
  • Security clearance maintenance: Active clearances typically require a fixed U.S. address and may impose restrictions on international travel duration and destinations.
  • Customer-facing travel: Federal agency clients (DoD, IC, Civilian) are concentrated in the Washington D.C. metro, Northern Virginia, and Maryland corridor. Expect regular in-person visits to secure facilities that cannot be substituted with video calls.

Within the U.S., the role offers genuine remote flexibility for administrative and presales work. With a base of $140K–$175K plus commission, cost-of-living arbitrage within the U.S. is viable — working remotely from lower-cost states like Texas, Tennessee, or the Carolinas rather than the D.C. area. For nomads specifically, this role is not compatible with international travel as a primary lifestyle.
