Capacity Planning Lead at Coinbase - Remote USA — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is listed as Remote - USA, meaning you must be US-based — international digital nomads or non-US residents will likely not qualify. While Coinbase is remote-first, it requires quarterly "surge" in-person sessions, so you must be able to travel to a US location approximately 4 times per year.
Within the US, the role offers solid location flexibility — you can base yourself in lower cost-of-living cities like Austin (TX), Nashville (TN), or Tucson (AZ) and benefit from the $108k–$128k salary range going further. For context:
- Austin, TX: A comfortable lifestyle on ~$80k/year; $108k+ leaves meaningful room for savings or travel.
- Nashville, TN: No state income tax; $108k goes far with a reasonable cost of living.
- New York / San Francisco: Salary at the lower end of this band is tight in these metros — consider whether the equity upside compensates.
The role is largely async-friendly in day-to-day operations, as capacity planning is output-driven rather than real-time reactive. However, you should expect cross-functional meetings within US business hours (EST–PST overlap). No specific timezone lock is stated, but a US timezone is practical. There are no mentioned coworking or equipment stipends beyond standard benefits.
