Broker Dealer Ops Associate at Coinbase - Remote US — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Important caveat for nomads: While Coinbase is listed as remote-first, this role is explicitly US-based only. The allowed countries field restricts applicants to the United States, meaning you must be eligible to work in the US and likely maintain a US presence for tax and compliance reasons tied to regulated brokerage operations.
That said, within the US, this role offers meaningful location flexibility. Coinbase's remote-first model means you can work from any US state, making it compatible with a domestic nomad lifestyle — hopping between cities like Austin, Miami, or Denver without being tied to a corporate office.
Schedule flexibility: The role involves daily reconciliations and monitoring of live operational queues tied to US market hours (typically 9:30am–4pm ET). This implies a degree of time-zone anchoring, likely requiring availability during US Eastern or Pacific business hours. It is not a fully async role.
Quarterly surges require in-person attendance, so budget for travel costs a few times per year.
- At $121K–$127K, this salary covers comfortable living in most US nomad hubs: Austin ($3,500–$4,500/mo furnished), Denver ($3,200–$4,200/mo), or Miami ($3,500–$4,800/mo).
- No coworking stipend or travel allowance is mentioned explicitly.
If you're a US-based nomad working within domestic time zones, this role is viable. International nomads or those seeking truly location-independent work should look elsewhere.
