Partner Solutions Engineer France - Remote at Cribl — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is officially remote-first and based in France, which is a strong positive signal for location-flexible professionals — but with meaningful caveats for nomads.
- Travel requirement: Up to 40% travel to customers, partners, and events across Southern Europe is explicitly required. This is a high-travel role, meaning extended slow-travel stays may be difficult to maintain consistently.
- Timezone constraints: Working primarily with Southern European partners (France, Italy, Spain, Portugal) anchors you to CET/CEST (UTC+1/+2). Occasional work outside standard hours is mentioned due to the global team. Nomad destinations in overlapping timezones — Lisbon (WET/WEST), Barcelona, or Rome — would be practical bases.
- Visa considerations: You must be based in France, so a standard French residency or work authorization is required. EU/EEA citizens have frictionless access. Non-EU nomads would need a French work visa or talent passport ("Passeport Talent"). Portugal's digital nomad visa would not satisfy the France residency requirement.
- Salary context: €97,400–€122,000/year is strong purchasing power in Lisbon (avg. monthly costs ~€1,800–2,500) or Medellín (~€1,000–1,500/month), but this role requires French residency, making Lisbon or Medellín viable only for brief travel, not primary bases.
- Perks relevant to travelers: Remote office setup support and potential equity upside are notable. No explicit coworking or travel stipend mentioned beyond the covered 40% business travel.
