Moment Strohl Mountain Light 45L Backpack — The Carry-On That Doubles as a Camera Pack
The gist: A lightweight 45L travel pack with a built-in camera insert that lets nomads move fast between destinations and shoot on arrival without carrying two separate bags.
- Light enough to move fast: Weighs 2 lbs 6 oz (1.08 kg) total with insert; the core pack alone is 2 lbs 1 oz (0.93 kg) — serious weight savings over most hybrid camera bags.
- Weather-ready shell: 210D CORDURA Lite Ripstop Nylon with internal waterproof coating and taped seams, plus YKK #5RC zippers to keep gear dry on rainy travel days.
- Flexible capacity: 45L base (31.5” H x 10.5” W x 10” D) with an expandable drawstring top that adds ~10L for overnights or market hauls.
- Rear-access camera compartment: Hard-sided insert fits one body and two lenses; the insert is removable so you can reclaim the full volume when leaving the camera at the hotel.
Carryology found the pack handles 10–20 lbs comfortably but shows noticeable strain beyond 30 lbs, and noted the Velcro tabs securing the camera insert began coming unglued after extended hiking use.
