Remote Part-Time BCBA at Double Care ABA - NY/NJ — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is listed as 100% remote, which is appealing on the surface — but there are important constraints for digital nomads to understand before getting excited.
The position serves NY and NJ clients with after-school scheduling, meaning sessions will run in the US Eastern timezone (ET), roughly 3–7 PM weekdays. This effectively pins your working hours to ET afternoons, which limits true location flexibility. Working from Europe or Asia would require late nights; working from LATAM (e.g., Medellín, UTC-5) would be very manageable.
Additionally, this role requires active NY LBA or NJ LBA licensure — a US state-specific credential. This is a hard professional constraint: you must legally hold or obtain a Licensed Behavior Analyst license in NY or NJ, which typically requires a US address and ties you to those states' regulatory boards.
- Salary context: At $80–$90/hr part-time, even 20 hrs/week yields ~$7,000–$7,800/month — extremely comfortable in Bangkok (~$1,500/mo) or Medellín (~$1,800/mo), and livable in Lisbon (~$2,500/mo).
- Visa note: You'd need to maintain US work authorization. Digital nomad visas in other countries wouldn't grant the right to work for a US employer without verifying local tax/visa rules.
Best suited for US-based BCBAs who want location flexibility within the US or Eastern Americas, not for traditional nomads hopping time zones.
This is a remote position.
