Frontend Eng Manager at Wrapbook - Remote Canada/US — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Remote-Friendly, But Geography-Gated: This role is explicitly open to candidates in Canada and the USA only. Digital nomads with residency or work authorization in either country will find this a solid remote opportunity, but those based elsewhere — even temporarily — will not qualify without a Canadian or US address on record.
Async & Timezone Flexibility: No fixed hours or specific timezone requirements are listed, which is a positive signal for async-leaning work. However, as an engineering manager collaborating cross-functionally with product and design teams, expect regular overlap with North American business hours (PT/ET, roughly UTC-8 to UTC-5). True async freedom may be limited by team meeting cadences.
Nomad-Relevant Perks:
- $1,500 USD home IT stipend — useful for a quality remote setup wherever you're working from in Canada/US.
- $50/month internet/phone allowance — a small but practical benefit for mobile workers.
- Unlimited PTO — genuine flexibility for travel between projects.
Cost of Living Context: Without a disclosed salary, direct comparisons are tricky. Engineering manager roles in Canada typically range CAD $150K–$200K+. If you're based in a lower-cost Canadian city like Halifax or Winnipeg vs. Toronto or Vancouver, your purchasing power improves significantly — a meaningful consideration for location-flexible workers within the allowed geography.
