This role is structured as an independent contractor / private practice partnership rather than a traditional employment position. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner on the Headway platform, you set your own hours and can see patients exclusively via telehealth from anywhere in the US — meaning you can work from a different city or state as long as you hold the appropriate licensure for where your patients are located.
Key location constraint: US psychiatric NP licensure is state-specific. While telehealth offers geographic flexibility, you are legally required to be licensed in the state where each patient resides. Multi-state Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) participation can expand your reach, but full nomadic freedom across all 50 states requires careful license management.
