Traveler-Friendly Insight

Remote-First, but Leadership-Heavy: Roofr operates a remote-first culture, which is a genuine green flag for location-flexible professionals. However, this is a C-suite-adjacent leadership role (reporting to the COO) requiring deep cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Finance teams. Expect frequent synchronous meetings, likely anchored to North American business hours (ET/PT overlap).

Timezone Constraints: While no explicit timezone is mandated, leading distributed teams across Customer Support, Onboarding, and Retention at a fast-growing SaaS startup will practically require availability during core North American hours (roughly 9am–6pm ET). This limits flexibility to overlapping zones — European mornings and Latin American standard hours work well; Southeast Asia would be challenging.

Visa Considerations: The role is open to Canada and the US. Canadian digital nomad visa options are limited, but if you're already authorized to work in Canada or the US, this role is fully remote. Non-citizens should note this is not a contractor or location-agnostic role — work authorization in Canada or the US is implicitly required.

Salary vs. Nomad Cost of Living (CAD $200k–$250k ≈ USD $148k–$185k):

  • Lisbon: Very comfortable — monthly costs ~$2,500–$3,500 USD, leaving significant runway.
  • Bangkok: Exceptional value — $1,500–$2,500/month, this salary affords a premium lifestyle.
  • Medellín: Strong purchasing power — $1,200–$2,000/month for a high quality of life.

Perks of note: Home office stipend, internet/phone allowance, and an annual company retreat all support a remote lifestyle. No explicit coworking allowance is mentioned.

At Roofr, we're obsessed with our customers. We constantly gather feedback to shape, prioritize, and launch the products they truly need. That's what makes Roofr's CRM special. We started by building essential sales tools like aerial roof measurements and digital sales proposals. But when our customers asked for a simple, affordable way to manage and scale their entire businesses, we listened. So, we created a CRM that connects these solutions—along with payments, material ordering, and more—into a seamless, powerful platform. With a clear roadmap ahead, we're excited to continue expanding and leading the market with innovative products.

We have an amazing culture, strong financials, and best-in-class company metrics. It's an exciting time to be part of an extraordinary startup that is already successful, yet still early enough to offer its team significant growth, equity, and the opportunity to make a real impact.

This position is for an existing vacancy.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Customer Experience will define and execute Roofr's post-sale customer strategy, leading the Customer Experience team. This leader will be responsible for building a future-focused organization that leverages AI, automation, and digital-first experiences to accelerate customer time-to-value, improve retention, and deliver world-class customer experiences at scale.

What you'll get to do:

Build the Future of Customer Experience

Provide leadership and/or support across:

  • Customer Support
  • Onboarding & Customer Success (Interim)

Develop leaders, build organizational capability, establish operational rhythms, and create clear performance metrics that drive accountability and continuous improvement. Connect these functions into a cohesive Customer Experience organization, breaking down operational silos and ensuring customers experience a consistent journey regardless of how or where they engage with Roofr.

Drive AI & Automation

Champion the use of AI and automation to transform both the customer and employee experience. Examples include:

  • AI-enabled customer support

  • Gross Revenue Retention (GRR)
  • Customer Health
  • Time to Value
  • Product Adoption
  • Customer Satisfaction (CSAT)
  • Net Promoter Score (NPS)
  • Support SLAs
  • Resolution Time

Use customer insights and data to identify friction, improve onboarding, increase product adoption, and strengthen long-term customer relationships.

Partner Cross-Functionally

Serve as the voice of the customer across the business by partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Finance to:

  • Translate customer feedback into actionable recommendations that influence product strategy, operational improvements, and customer experience initiatives.
  • Identify and address experience gaps within the product itself.
  • Bring a holistic view of customer behavior, needs, and friction points to cross-functional planning and prioritization.

Build for Scale

  • Develop scalable systems, processes, and operating models that support rapid company growth.
  • Create dashboards, forecasting models, workforce planning, and operational KPIs that provide visibility into customer performance and organizational health.
  • Connect customer behavior, product usage, support interactions, onboarding progress, and retention signals to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build feedback loops that translate customer insights into improvements across people, processes, product, and technology.

Drive Holistic Customer Journey Optimization

  • Map and measure key customer journeys to understand where customers experience friction, where they derive value, and where Roofr can proactively improve the experience.
  • Prioritize journey improvements based on customer impact, business value, and scalability.
  • Establish a culture of continuous experimentation and optimization, using data and customer feedback to test, learn, and improve the customer experience over time.

What You'll Bring to the Role:

  • 10+ years of experience leading Customer Experience, Customer Success, Customer Operations, or Support organizations within a B2B SaaS company.
  • 5+ years leading multiple customer-facing functions through managers and senior leaders.
  • Experience supporting SMB customers in a Product-Led Growth (PLG) and/or Product-Led Sales (PLS) environment.
  • Demonstrated success improving customer retention, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience implementing AI and automation to improve customer outcomes and team productivity.
  • Strong understanding of onboarding, customer support, customer lifecycle management, and digital customer engagement.

  • Proven ability to build scalable processes and high-performing teams in high-growth environments.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional executive presence and cross-functional leadership.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced at scaling a Customer Experience organization and innovating to solve problems.
  • Skilled at partnering closely with Product and Engineering to improve customer adoption and product usability.
  • You think beyond individual functions and see the customer experience as one connected journey rather than a series of departmental handoffs.
  • You naturally look for friction across the customer lifecycle and bring teams together to solve the underlying problem.
  • Deeply customer-centric, using qualitative feedback, behavioral data, and business metrics to understand what customers need.
  • Familiar with platforms such as Intercom, Gainsight, Salesforce, HubSpot, Gong, or similar customer technologies.
  • Experienced in designing digital-first customer journeys and self-service customer experiences.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS metrics including GRR, churn, customer health, adoption, and customer lifetime value.

Success in Your First 12 Months:

  • Establish a unified Customer Experience strategy across Support, Onboarding, and Retention.
