Product Manager at Natera - Remote USA Healthtech — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Remote Flexibility: This role is explicitly listed as Remote USA, meaning you must maintain US-based work eligibility. While this restricts international nomads from applying, US citizens traveling abroad on short-term tourist or digital nomad visas may technically perform work — though Natera's payroll and compliance requirements tie you to a US address.
Timezone Considerations: The job involves facilitating scrum ceremonies and collaborating with both on-shore and off-shore engineering teams. Expect some fixed meeting windows, likely spanning US business hours (Pacific to Eastern). This limits true async freedom — plan for at least 4–6 hours of overlap with US time zones daily.
Salary vs. Nomad Cost of Living: The $114,200–$142,800 salary goes a long way in popular nomad hubs:
- Lisbon, Portugal: Monthly costs ~$2,000–$2,800; this salary leaves strong savings capacity.
- Bangkok, Thailand: Monthly costs ~$1,200–$1,800; excellent purchasing power, though US tax obligations remain.
- Medellín, Colombia: Monthly costs ~$1,400–$2,000; very comfortable lifestyle, but again US tax residency applies.
Travel-Relevant Perks: Commuter benefits are listed but no explicit coworking stipend or home-office equipment allowance was mentioned. No travel budget for team meetups is specified, though Natera is a global company and occasional on-site collaboration is possible. US citizens traveling abroad should verify their employment contract allows remote work from other countries before booking long stays.
