Creative Director at Chime - Hybrid Remote USA — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This Creative Director role at Chime is a hybrid position — requiring four days per week in the office with Fridays remote. The posting does mention a fully remote program option, but the primary expectation for this senior leadership role appears to be significant in-office presence. This is not suitable for full-time digital nomads who travel continuously.
For professionals based in the US who want partial flexibility, the Friday-from-home policy offers limited but real remote days. The hybrid model implies US-based time zones (likely Pacific or Central, given Chime's San Francisco headquarters), with no clear indication of async flexibility at the Creative Director level.
On compensation: the $201,000–$279,000 salary range is substantial. For context:
- Lisbon, Portugal: A comfortable lifestyle runs ~$2,500–$3,500/month — this salary would cover years of nomadic living.
- Bangkok, Thailand: High-comfort living costs ~$1,500–$2,500/month, making the purchasing power extraordinary.
- Medellín, Colombia: Quality of life costs ~$1,200–$2,000/month — very high leverage on this salary.
However, given the in-office requirement, those lifestyle scenarios are not compatible with this specific role. If you're a nomad-friendly creative leader, look instead for fully remote Creative Director openings at remote-first startups or agencies.
