Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager at Chime - Remote US — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Hybrid-First with a Remote Track: This role is tagged #LI-Hybrid, meaning Chime expects candidates near one of its offices (primarily San Francisco) to work in-person four days a week, with Fridays remote. However, Chime explicitly mentions a fully remote program for employees not located near an office — a meaningful distinction. If you're a digital nomad already based in the US, it's worth clarifying which track applies at hiring.
Timezone Constraints: Even on the remote track, cross-functional collaboration with Data Science, Analytics, Product, and Growth teams strongly implies US business hours — likely Pacific or Central time. This role is not async-friendly; real-time stakeholder influence is a core requirement. Traveling nomads should plan to anchor in UTC-5 to UTC-8 zones.
Salary vs. Nomad Cost of Living: The $150K–$208K range is generous by any standard:
- Lisbon, Portugal: A comfortable lifestyle runs ~$2,500–$3,500/month — this salary offers substantial savings potential, though EU work authorization is needed for longer stays.
- Bangkok, Thailand: ~$1,500–$2,500/month all-in — exceptional runway for savings or investment.
- Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,500–$2,200/month — strong value, and Colombia offers a digital nomad visa for stays up to 2 years.
Relevant Perks: The annual wellness stipend could potentially cover coworking memberships. No explicit equipment or travel budget is mentioned. Visa note: US-only hiring limits international nomad options — you'd need to maintain US residency or tax status.
About the Role
We're hiring a Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to join our Lifecycle & CRM Marketing team and shape how Chime engages, retains, and grows members throughout their lifecycle. You'll own the strategy behind complex, high-impact programs across email, push, in-app, and SMS, connecting member experiences to outcomes such as primacy, retention, product attach, ARPAM, and LTV.
You'll operate with a high degree of independence, lead through ambiguity, and know when to escalate while influencing decisions across Product, Growth, Product Marketing, Creative, Data Science, and Analytics. You'll also help the Lifecycle team develop stronger ways of working and contribute to lifecycle innovation through data, AI, automation, and personalized cross-channel journeys.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $150,000 and up to $208,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In This Role, You Can Expect To
- Own the lifecycle strategy for a complex, high-impact area of the business, setting a clear direction tied to member and business outcomes.
- Design and evolve connected member journeys across email, push, in-app, and SMS as member behavior, business priorities, and available data change.
- Develop segmentation and targeting strategies with Data Science to deliver more personalized, behavior-based programs.
- Set the testing agenda, identify the most valuable questions to answer, run rigorous experiments, and translate findings into strategy.
- Lead cross-functional decisions with Product, Growth, Product Marketing, Creative, Data Science, and Analytics, influencing lifecycle processes and capabilities beyond your immediate work.
- Use AI tools and automation as a core part of how you work, helping the team move toward more automated and personalized member journeys.
- Own the outcomes for your area, connecting lifecycle work to primacy, retention, product attach, ARPAM, and LTV while raising the quality of strategy and execution around you.
To Thrive in This Role, You Have
- 6–8+ years of experience in lifecycle, integrated, or retention marketing, including leading complex, cross-functional programs that delivered measurable results.
- Strong data fluency and experience using analytics and AI-enabled tools such as Hex, Looker, or Statsig to answer questions, develop strategy, and recognize when further investigation is needed.
- Experience incorporating AI and automation into your day-to-day work, along with a clear point of view on how lifecycle marketing is evolving.
- Strong strategic judgment across member journeys, segmentation, targeting, channel orchestration, and testing.
- The ability to lead cross-functional conversations, influence senior partners, navigate ambiguity, operate independently, and recognize when escalation is appropriate.
- Deep member obsession and the judgment to balance member experience with business needs in high-stakes decisions.
- Plus: hands-on experience with a CRM or marketing automation platform such as Braze, Iterable, or Klaviyo; having owned a lifecycle domain such as activation, retention, or monetization end to end; or having designed automation- or agent-driven journeys.
