Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is fully remote within the United States — but that comes with an important caveat for digital nomads: you must hold an active, unrestricted pharmacist license in your state of residence. This means your legal domicile must be a U.S. state, making international slow travel incompatible with this position without forfeiting licensure eligibility.

Additionally, the posting explicitly requires availability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or fixed schedule. This suggests structured shift coverage rather than a fully async, flexible arrangement — plan for real-time responsiveness during U.S. business hours and beyond.

Salary context: At $63–$66/hr, annualized full-time earnings range from approximately $131,000–$137,000. Compared to popular nomad destinations:

  • Lisbon, Portugal: A comfortable lifestyle runs ~$2,500–$3,500/month — this salary provides exceptional purchasing power, but you cannot legally work this role from there long-term due to licensure requirements.
  • Bangkok, Thailand: Similar situation — cost of living is very low (~$1,500–$2,500/month), but U.S. state residency for licensure is non-negotiable.
  • Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,500–$2,500/month in living costs, again practically out of reach for this role.

The best-fit lifestyle for this role is a U.S.-based remote worker who values earning a high healthcare salary from home, with domestic travel possible between shifts — not international nomading.
