Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is listed as a remote setup targeting the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), which is a strong signal for location flexibility — but with important caveats for nomads.

The position requires C2-level German fluency and involves occasional travel to client sites in the DACH region for in-person meetings. This means you'll need reliable availability during Central European Time (CET/CEST) business hours. The sales nature of the role demands synchronous communication — customer calls, demos, and negotiations happen in real time, so fully async work is not feasible here.

For nomads who prefer European bases, this role suits well from destinations like:

  • Lisbon, Portugal — only 1 hour behind CET, low cost of living (~€1,800/mo), D8 digital nomad visa available for non-EU nationals.
  • Warsaw, Poland — same CET timezone, EU freedom of movement, very affordable (~€1,200/mo).
  • Barcelona, Spain — same CET zone, vibrant nomad community, Spanish digital nomad visa available.

Non-EU nationals working in Germany itself would typically need a work visa. The equity package and uncapped commission add meaningful upside. No coworking stipend is explicitly mentioned, so budget for that separately. The occasional client travel requirement means you'll need a stable EU-accessible base rather than hopping between continents.

What We Do…

We're people who love technology but know that hoteliers just want things to be simple. So since 2006 we've been constantly innovating our world-leading hotel commerce platform to help accommodation owners find and book more guests online - quickly and simply.

We've helped everyone from boutique hotels to big chains, enabling travellers to book igloos, cabins, castles, holiday parks, campsites, pubs, resorts, Airbnbs, and everything in between.

Today, we're the world's leading open hotel commerce platform, supporting 50,000 hotels in 150+ countries - with over 130 million reservations processed by SiteMinder's technology every year.

As a Business Development Manager you will be a key driver of new business growth across the DACH region, engaging and advising customers across various segments from small independent hotels and boutique properties to large hotel groups and travel tech partners. You will be joining and representing the leading AI technology platform redefining guest acquisition and hotel revenue management. You will be relied on not just to close new business but to strategically influence pipeline growth, long-term partnerships and commercial excellence.

We won't throw you into the deep end - you'll be trained on our products, industry and sales processes. We have a month-long sales training and onboarding program to make sure you are set up for success. You will be supported by a dedicated sales coach and a buddy, as well as your team leader, who will coach, guide and motivate you to achieve your professional goals.

We know that an attractive compensation package is a key motivator in sales.
