Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is structured as a self-employed Contract for Services with a fully remote, flexible working model — making it one of the more location-independent education roles available. Assessments are conducted via an online training portal, and there are no fixed office hours mentioned, suggesting a largely async-friendly workflow.

However, there are some important caveats for digital nomads:

  • Standardisation meetings are required, which may involve scheduled video calls aligned to UK business hours (GMT/BST). Timezone flexibility is therefore limited to ±3–4 hours from UK time for practical purposes.
  • The role is UK-based and likely expects familiarity with UK awarding bodies and RQF qualifications — candidates must have verifiable UK-relevant credentials.
  • As a self-employed contractor, you manage your own tax obligations, which can complicate matters across multiple jurisdictions for nomads outside the UK.

If based abroad, digital nomad visas in Portugal, Spain (Non-Lucrative Visa), or Georgia could work, provided income is sourced from this UK contract. Pay rates are undisclosed and discussed at interview, so it's worth clarifying whether the contract supports a sustainable nomadic lifestyle before committing. There are no travel perks, coworking allowances, or equipment stipends mentioned.
