Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is labeled remote, but comes with a significant geographic constraint: candidates must live within approximately 50 miles of Austin TX, Boston MA, or Washington DC. This effectively rules out full-time digital nomads who move freely between countries or cities.

Schedule & Timezone: The job description does not specify fixed hours, but enterprise CSM roles inherently require synchronous availability during US business hours (ET/CT) for client calls and cross-functional meetings. Expect a predominantly 9–6 EST/CST schedule, making this unsuitable for nomads based in APAC or European time zones.

Visa situation: HackerOne explicitly states no visa or work permit sponsorship is available. Candidates must already have US work authorization. This eliminates visa-based nomad strategies.

Salary vs. nomad cost of living: The $141K–$173K base is generous, but you'd need to remain near one of the three anchor cities:

  • Austin, TX — ~$3,500/mo for a comfortable 1BR; solid value at this salary range.
  • Washington, DC — ~$2,800–$4,500/mo for a 1BR; higher cost of living but still very comfortable on this comp.
  • Boston, MA — ~$3,200–$4,200/mo; competitive but manageable.

If you're a US-based remote worker seeking occasional flexibility (e.g., work-from-anywhere summers within a reasonable timezone), this role may offer some latitude — but it is not designed for lifestyle nomads. Look for fully location-independent CSM roles if that's your priority.
