Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is purpose-built for digital nomads. Remote (the company) is one of the most nomad-friendly employers in the world: the position is explicitly open to anyone, anywhere, and the entire team operates on an async-first model with no fixed meeting hours. You set your schedule around your life — not Zoom calls.

Timezone flexibility: Because Remote is async by default, there are no mandatory overlap windows explicitly stated. This means you can be based in Bangkok, Medellín, or Lisbon without schedule conflicts — a rare and genuine advantage over most "remote" roles that still require EST or CET core hours.

Visa considerations: The EMEA hint and "anywhere in the world" policy opens up numerous options:

  • Portugal (Lisbon): Digital Nomad Visa available; $149K+ USD salary far exceeds requirements. Cost of living ~$2,000–$2,800/month — salary allows very comfortable living.
  • Thailand (Bangkok/Chiang Mai): LTR Visa (Long-Term Resident) or tourist visa with border runs; cost of living ~$1,200–$1,800/month — exceptional savings potential.
  • Colombia (Medellín): Digital Nomad Visa (up to 2 years); cost of living ~$1,200–$1,800/month — strong design/tech community.

Travel-relevant perks include a co-working space budget (great for hot-desking while traveling), home office/IT equipment budget, and a learning budget. No physical office means zero relocation pressure. This is a genuinely location-independent role.

What This Job Can Offer You

This is an exciting time to join Remote and make an impact in the global employment space as a Senior Product Designer joining our Product Design team. Design at Remote is a 40+ multi-disciplinary team of designers and creatives passionate about crafting the experiences that help Remote scale successfully and help customers find, hire, manage and pay anyone, anywhere.

At Remote, we look for Senior Product Designers who are well-experienced, have a high level of maturity across the end-to-end design process, can autonomously lead design within a product team, and are comfortable navigating ambiguity. You will be part of a thriving cross-functional organisation, collaborating with Designers, Engineers and Product Managers worldwide to deliver remarkable user experiences to customers.

What You Bring

  • An impressive portfolio of product design work demonstrating your maturity across the end-to-end design process — showcasing your ability to identify and understand problems to solve, and deliver delightful, well-crafted user interfaces that have tangible impact on users.
  • Persuasive communication skills that help you build strong narratives around your design work, provide direction and guidance to others, and collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders — with fluent written and spoken English.
  • A systems-thinking mindset: comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, with a work history demonstrating an ability to autonomously take ownership of design for complex domains and/or multiple projects.
  • Strong evidence of effective cross-functional collaboration with product and engineering counterparts, building consensus, resolving debates, and driving impactful business outcomes.
  • A focus not only on delivering quality user experiences, but also on shaping design culture and ways of working within your design organization.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience designing complex B2B SaaS solutions for industries like HRTech, FinTech, etc.
  • Candidates who embody and demonstrate Remote's core values.
  • Experience working remotely is considered a plus, though not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Influencing strategy for your product team, identifying opportunities for impact in collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional peers.
  • Applying the right research methodology at the right time, helping you and your team empathise with customer challenges and develop an intimate knowledge of the problem being solved.
  • Leveraging AI prototyping as a tool for exploring conceptual ideas, iterating with cross-functional peers, and bringing ideas to life with functional flows.
  • Crafting high-fidelity user interfaces with flair at velocity, expressing your maturity in interaction design and maintaining an exceptional bar for quality while delivering at speed.
  • Leading compelling vision initiatives for your team and domain, influencing and visualising the direction-of-travel and opportunities for innovation.
  • Solving problems holistically with systems-thinking, understanding the ripple effect of design decisions and ensuring scalability, while avoiding unnecessary variation to information architecture and experiences.
  • Communicating persuasively, weaving storytelling narratives around your work to bring peers on the journey with you, while triaging critique and feedback efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborating transparently in the open, proactively sharing your work with the wider organisation to solicit frequent feedback and identify opportunities for cross-domain collaboration.
  • Advocating usage of the design system Norma to its best advantage, understanding when to follow it strictly or deviate, improve, and contribute back.
  • Championing experience principles by ensuring simplicity, usability, scalability and accessibility in all user experiences delivered.
  • Being an active member of cross-functional culture by advocating quality, shaping ways of working, and providing peer support, critique and feedback to others.

  • Team: Product Design
  • Location: Anywhere in the world
