Senior Deployment Specialist at ChargePoint - Remote — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Remote across North America — but plan around phone support hours. This role is officially remote within North America (US and Canada), which opens up geographic flexibility. However, it is not a fully async role: responsibilities include direct phone support during peak call volumes and real-time customer escalations. This implies you'll need to be available during standard North American business hours (roughly 9am–6pm ET/PT), which limits timezone flexibility for nomads based abroad.
Visa considerations: If you hold a US or Canadian passport, you have the most flexibility. Digital nomad visas in destinations like Portugal, Costa Rica, or Barbados may work if you can reliably cover North American daytime hours — typically manageable from Western Europe (evening overlap) or the Americas.
Cost of living vs. salary ($70,380–$95,220 USD/year):
- Lisbon, Portugal: ~$2,000–$2,800/mo living costs — this salary affords a very comfortable lifestyle, with significant savings potential.
- Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,200–$1,800/mo — excellent purchasing power; strong nomad community.
- Bangkok, Thailand: ~$1,000–$1,600/mo — high savings rate, but the timezone gap (11–14 hrs ahead of US) makes phone support coverage very difficult.
No travel-specific perks (coworking stipend or meetup budget) were mentioned. Equipment and tool access appear office-agnostic given the remote designation.
