Traveler-Friendly Insight

Remote-First, But With a Catch: phData is a genuinely remote-first company with a distributed team across the US, LATAM, and India — a strong signal for location flexibility. However, this role requires up to 50% travel (roughly 10 business days per month) to client sites. This is a significant constraint for nomads who prefer to stay put for weeks at a time, but it could suit a "flashpacker" consultant lifestyle if you plan travel around client visit blocks.

Timezone Considerations: The job description targets LATAM candidates. Client engagements are likely US-centric (given the company's US headquarters), so expect overlap with US Eastern or Central business hours. Cities like Medellín, Buenos Aires, or Mexico City are well-positioned — all share or closely align with US Eastern/Central timezones and offer affordable living for the compensation tier typical of senior consulting roles.

  • Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,500–$2,000/month comfortable living; strong coworking scene; Colombia digital nomad visa available.
  • Buenos Aires, Argentina: ~$1,200–$1,800/month; vibrant tech community; no formal nomad visa but tourist visas are extendable.
  • Mexico City: ~$1,800–$2,500/month; excellent infrastructure; Temporary Resident visa path available.

Key Caveat: The 50% client travel requirement means you'll need a reliable "home base" in a LATAM country — pure nomad-hopping will be difficult to sustain. Look for a city with a strong international airport hub for easy US client visits.

  • Specify model behavior, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop interactions.
  • Address non-functional needs (performance, explainability, auditability, SLAs).

Delivery, Change & Outcomes

  • Navigate complex organizational hierarchies and goals to build consensus.
  • Support experimentation and rollout (PoCs, pilots), including test design, feedback loops, training, SOP updates, and communications.
  • Partner with architects and developers to ensure designs meet business needs and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Own the quality and readiness of BA deliverables and coach project team members.
  • Drive project outcomes by keeping alignment between business objectives, implementation, and success metrics.

AI-Enabled BA Practice & Client Relationships

  • Use Generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, Glean, agents) to accelerate analysis, documentation, and solution design — letting the tech do the heavy lifting while you validate outputs, synthesize themes, and recommend future states.

  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI to accelerate day-to-day BA activities in client delivery.
  • Understanding of adoption and change management approaches and familiarity with industry-standard strategy frameworks.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, with strong curiosity for the "why" behind the "what."
