Research Analyst II at Temple University - Hybrid Philadelph — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is hybrid, requiring regular on-site presence at Temple University's main campus in Philadelphia, PA. The split between remote and on-site days is at the university's discretion, meaning you won't have full control over your schedule. This makes long-term slow travel or frequent location changes essentially incompatible with this position.
For digital nomads, this is a significant constraint: you must be within commuting distance of Philadelphia during the workweek. The remote component offers some local flexibility (work-from-home days), but this is not a location-independent role.
Salary vs. nomad cost of living: At $49,250–$56,000/year, consider:
- Lisbon: A comfortable monthly budget runs ~$2,000–$2,500. This salary translates to ~$4,100–$4,700/month gross — potentially strong purchasing power, but you'd need to be physically in Philadelphia.
- Bangkok: Even more favorable at ~$1,500/month for a comfortable lifestyle, but again, residency in Philadelphia is required.
- Medellín: ~$1,200–$1,800/month covers a good lifestyle — but irrelevant for an on-site role.
If you're a traveler seeking a data/analytics role that is fully remote, look instead for titles like "Remote Institutional Research Analyst" or "Higher Education Data Analyst – Remote" at ed-tech companies or fully distributed universities. This posting is best suited to someone settled in or near Philadelphia.
