Utility Team Member - Entry-Level Restaurant Job India — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This is an on-site, in-person role at a restaurant or food service facility in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is not suitable for digital nomads or location-independent remote workers. The position requires physical presence in a kitchen environment, working rotating shifts including evenings and weekends.
If you are a traveler exploring India and looking for short-term work to fund your travels, this type of hospitality/utility role can sometimes offer flexibility, but this specific posting does not mention temporary or seasonal contracts. Visa considerations are also relevant — most tourist visas (e.g., India e-Tourist Visa) do not permit paid employment, so ensure you have the appropriate work authorization before applying.
For digital nomads seeking remote-friendly opportunities in the hospitality or food industry, this role is not a match. Instead, look for roles such as:
- Remote restaurant operations coordinator
- Online food & beverage consultant
- Virtual customer support for food delivery platforms
If your goal is local immersion in India while earning, and you hold valid work authorization, Chittoor's cost of living is very low, making even entry-level wages stretch further than in larger metros.
A Utility Team Member's responsibilities include collecting used dishes, plates and utensils, loading dishwashing machines, and stacking washed items appropriately. In addition, collecting garbage, sweeping, mopping, and upkeep of the overall cleanliness of the facility inside and out.
If you want to kick-start your career in the restaurant industry and be part of the behind-the-scenes operations, we'd like to meet you.
