Traveler-Friendly Insight

This SDR role at Verlo is fully remote, which opens the door for location-independent work — however, there are some practical considerations for nomads to keep in mind.

Timezone considerations: The role is based out of the Greater St. John's, Newfoundland area (Canada, NST/NDT — UTC-3:30/UTC-2:30). As an SDR, you'll be making calls and conducting qualifying conversations with US-based financial advisors, which typically means availability during US East/Central business hours (roughly 9am–6pm ET). This significantly limits timezone flexibility — you'd need to be within roughly UTC-3 to UTC-6 to work comfortably without burning out on late-night calls.

Best nomad destinations for this role:

  • Medellín, Colombia (UTC-5): Perfect timezone alignment with US Eastern hours. Cost of living ~$1,200–$1,800/month. Colombia offers a digital nomad visa for stays up to 2 years.
  • Lisbon, Portugal (UTC+0/+1): Timezone is challenging — US East calls would run 2pm–11pm local. Not ideal for a phone-heavy SDR role.
  • Mexico City, Mexico (UTC-6): Strong timezone fit, vibrant expat scene, ~$1,200–$1,800/month. Tourist visas allow 180-day stays.

Perks for nomads: Unlimited PTO is travel-friendly, and the fully remote structure means no relocation required. No coworking stipend or equipment budget was mentioned explicitly — worth clarifying before committing.

We're building the AI Agent OS for Advisors. Financial advisors use Verlo to replace the patchwork of tools they hate. Our agents join their meetings, write their notes, update their CRM, and answer any question about any client instantly. Interest is growing faster than we can follow up on, and we need someone at the top of the funnel turning that interest into booked meetings.

As a Sales Development Representative at Verlo, you'll be the first conversation most advisors have with us. You'll run outbound, qualify inbound, and book demos for our Account Executives. You'll work closely with the AE team and report directly to the founder.

What You'll Do

  • Prospect every day: building lists, researching advisors and firms, and writing outbound that earns replies.
  • Run the first call to qualify fit and book qualified demos for the AE team.
  • Own inbound leads from our waitlist and referrals, respond fast, and make sure no good lead goes cold.
  • Keep your pipeline clean, test new messaging and sequences, and feed back what's landing so we keep sharpening the pitch.
  • Drive a steady flow of qualified meetings the AEs can close.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–3+ years in an SDR, BDR, or outbound role at a B2B SaaS company with a consistent record of hitting meeting or pipeline targets.
  • Comfortable with outbound — you can write cold email that gets a reply and pick up the phone without overthinking it.
  • Discipline working remotely — you manage your own list, sequences, and follow-ups without anyone checking in on you.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; you'll be drafting outreach, qualifying on calls, and recording Looms daily.
  • Curiosity about the product and the market — you'll learn the workflows that matter to financial advisors and speak about them credibly.
  • Resilient and coachable — you treat a no as information and iterate fast.

Nice to Have

  • Experience prospecting into financial advisors, RIAs, or wealth management firms.
  • Familiarity with the wealthtech ecosystem (custodians, planning software, CRMs like Redtail or Wealthbox).
  • Experience with outbound tooling for sequencing, list-building, and enrichment.
  • Background at an early-stage startup where you helped build the motion, not just follow it.
  • You've used AI tools in your own workflow and understand why this market is about to change.

Benefits

  • Health and dental benefits
  • Unlimited vacation
  • Equity in the company
