Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role at TAKKION is described as a hybrid position — a combination of office, remote, and active construction site work — with up to 50% travel required. For digital nomads, this is an important constraint: while some remote desk work is part of the role, frequent site visits to utility-scale BESS construction projects mean you cannot operate purely location-independently.

The role does not specify fixed timezone requirements, but coordinating with Project Managers, OEMs, and subcontractors on active construction projects strongly implies you need to be available during US business hours and reachable on short notice during critical project phases.

At a salary of $90,000–$130,000 USD/year, the purchasing power at popular nomad bases is strong during remote work periods:

  • Lisbon, Portugal: ~$2,000–$2,500/month cost of living — very comfortable stretch between site visits.
  • Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,200–$1,800/month — excellent value, though US visa-free stays are limited to 180 days/year.
  • Bangkok, Thailand: ~$1,500–$2,000/month — Thailand LTR Visa suits high earners; distance from US project sites is a major obstacle.

The safety-sensitive designation, drug testing requirements, and physical site presence obligations make this role unsuitable for pure nomadic lifestyles. Travelers seeking flexibility between project phases may find limited windows, but sustained location independence is not feasible here.
