Traveler-Friendly Insight

Remote Viability: SunnyData's job posting does not specify a required office location or headquarters city, which is a positive signal for location-independent work. However, the posting also does not explicitly state "remote" or "fully distributed," so candidates should confirm the remote policy directly during the application process.

Timezone Flexibility: No specific timezone requirements are mentioned. The role involves collaboration with Engineering and Data teams as well as business stakeholders, which typically requires some overlap hours. If the company operates primarily in US time zones, expect at least 4–6 hours of daily overlap — manageable from Europe (CET/CEST) or parts of Latin America, but more challenging from Southeast Asia.

Cost of Living Comparison: Since no salary is published, estimating purchasing power is difficult. QA Engineers with 4+ years of experience and automation skills typically earn $70,000–$110,000 USD annually in the US market. At the lower end, that stretches comfortably in:

  • Lisbon, Portugal: ~$2,000–$2,500/month for a comfortable lifestyle
  • Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,500–$2,000/month
  • Chiang Mai, Thailand: ~$1,200–$1,800/month

Nomad-Relevant Perks: No explicit mention of coworking stipends, equipment allowances, or travel budgets. Ask about these during the interview if remote work is confirmed. The role's emphasis on documentation and async communication tools (GitHub, CI/CD) suggests a culture that may support distributed work.
