Remote Fintech PM Role - EST Hours, Russian-Speaking — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
EST Hours Requirement is the Key Constraint: This role explicitly requires working Eastern Standard Time (EST/UTC-5 or EDT/UTC-4) hours full-time. For digital nomads, this significantly limits where you can work comfortably without disrupting your sleep schedule.
- Good fit: Latin America (Medellín, Mexico City, Buenos Aires) — all within 1–2 hours of EST, making this an excellent nomad-friendly arrangement from LATAM.
- Challenging: Southeast Asia (Bangkok, Bali) — EST overlap means working roughly 8 PM–4 AM local time, which is unsustainable long-term.
- Workable stretch: Lisbon, Portugal (UTC+1) — a 5–6 hour offset means early mornings (2 PM–10 PM local for a 9 AM–5 PM EST day), which some nomads manage short-term.
Visa Considerations: No allowed countries are specified, suggesting this may be open to global applicants. Russian-speaking candidates based in Eastern Europe or Central Asia should verify work authorization. Countries with digital nomad visas compatible with EST work include Colombia (Medellín is a top pick), Mexico, and Costa Rica.
No travel perks (coworking stipend, equipment budget) are mentioned. The early-stage nature means benefits may be minimal. Best nomad base: Medellín or Mexico City — affordable cost of living, strong coworking infrastructure, and near-perfect timezone alignment.
We are looking for a Russian-speaking, hands-on Project Manager with strong Product Management skills to join a small, early-stage fintech environment. You will work directly with the CTO, engineering team, and business stakeholders to turn incomplete business ideas into clear product requirements, user flows, wireframes, prioritized backlogs, and executable delivery plans. This is a full-time role working EST hours. Fintech experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Turn vague or incomplete business requests into clear requirements, user flows, low-fidelity wireframes, user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog items, and delivery plans.
- Own backlog refinement and prioritization based on business value, urgency, risk, dependencies, and engineering effort.
- Plan and coordinate sprints and releases while managing scope, blockers, risks, dependencies, and changing requirements.
- Work closely with the CTO, engineers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve product and technical tradeoffs, make practical decisions, and keep key changes documented.
Requirements
- Strong software Project Management experience with hands-on Product Management or Business Analysis skills, including requirements discovery, prioritization, user stories, acceptance criteria, backlogs, sprints, dependencies, and releases.
- Proven ability to turn vague business ideas into clear requirements, user flows, low-fidelity wireframes, and executable plans using Figma, Balsamiq, Miro, FigJam, Whimsical, or similar tools.
- Comfortable working directly with CTOs and engineers, discussing technical constraints, challenging assumptions, and making product decisions in a fast-changing early-stage environment.
- Strong written and spoken English; stable employment history, typically 2–3+ years per company, or credible explanations for shorter engagements.
- Fintech, payments, banking, B2B SaaS, financial operations, or other regulated-industry experience is strongly preferred.
