Traveler-Friendly Insight

Location Freedom: SOFTSWISS explicitly offers full-time remote work with flexible working hours and is open to candidates "Anywhere in the World" — a strong signal for digital nomads seeking genuine location independence.

Timezone & Schedule Flexibility: No specific timezone is mandated in the posting, which suggests meaningful async flexibility. However, the requirement for Russian language proficiency (B1+) implies regular collaboration with CIS-region teammates, likely in UTC+2 to UTC+5 windows. Plan your base accordingly — Eastern Europe, Georgia, the Caucasus region, or even Southeast Asia (Bali, Chiang Mai) can work with disciplined scheduling.

Cost of Living Comparison (no salary disclosed): Without a stated salary, benchmarking is approximate. Senior DevOps roles in similar iGaming/tech companies typically pay $60,000–$100,000/year remotely. At that range:

  • Lisbon, Portugal: Comfortable mid-range lifestyle (~$2,200–$2,800/month); digital nomad visa available for non-EU applicants
  • Bangkok, Thailand: Excellent value (~$1,200–$1,800/month); SMART Visa or LTR Visa options for tech professionals
  • Medellín, Colombia: Strong nomad community (~$1,000–$1,600/month); tourist visa up to 180 days/year

Travel Perks: The company offers conference participation and training budgets, which may include travel. Sports program compensation could cover coworking or gym memberships depending on interpretation — worth clarifying during negotiation.

Headquarters: Nowy Rynek Poznań, 61-579 Poland

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this role truly fully remote or is there an expectation to work from Poland occasionally?
The posting explicitly states "full-time remote work opportunities" and the job is listed as open "Anywhere in the World," suggesting no office attendance is required. It's worth confirming during the interview whether occasional travel to the Poznań HQ is ever expected.
Why is Russian language proficiency required for a remote global role?
SOFTSWISS is headquartered in Poland but has a significant CIS-region team presence, meaning many colleagues or stakeholders may communicate in Russian. B1+ (intermediate) level is sufficient, implying it's used for day-to-day collaboration rather than client-facing work.
What is the salary range for this Senior DevOps position?
SOFTSWISS has not disclosed a salary range in this posting. Based on market data for senior DevOps/SRE roles at remote-first European tech companies, compensation typically falls between $60,000 and $90,000 annually, though iGaming firms can pay above this range for strong candidates.
What does the sports program compensation benefit include?
The posting mentions a "sports program compensation" but does not specify the amount or eligible activities. It commonly covers gym memberships, sports classes, or fitness equipment — confirm the specifics and whether it can be used for coworking space access during the interview process.
Is there an on-call requirement given the monitoring and incident response responsibilities?
The role includes responding proactively to monitoring alerts and events, which typically implies some form of on-call rotation. The posting does not specify the structure or any additional compensation for on-call duties, so this is an important question to raise with the hiring team.
