Traveler-Friendly Insight

Schedule Flexibility: This role is explicitly async and self-scheduled — you only need a laptop and a stable internet connection. With 10–20 hours per week during active phases, it pairs well with a nomadic lifestyle, leaving plenty of time to explore your destination.

Timezone Freedom: No fixed timezone is mentioned, making this one of the more location-independent gigs available. You can work from virtually any timezone across Latin America or beyond, as long as you meet deliverable deadlines.

Visa Considerations: Since this is a freelance/contractor role restricted to Latin America, popular nomad bases work well. Colombia (Medellín) offers a Digital Nomad Visa valid up to 2 years. Mexico has no formal nomad visa but tourist visas allow 180-day stays. Uruguay and Chile also have straightforward long-stay options for independent contractors.

Cost of Living vs. $14/hr: At 15–20 hrs/week, you'd earn roughly $840–$1,120/month.

  • Medellín, Colombia: Comfortable living from ~$900/month — this salary is a solid baseline here.
  • Mexico City, Mexico: Budget around $1,000–$1,400/month for comfort — works as a supplement to other income.
  • Lima, Peru: Very affordable at ~$700–$900/month — this salary covers essentials comfortably.

Note: This is a part-time freelance engagement, so it's best treated as a side income stream or paired with other remote work rather than as a sole income source.
