About the role
As an SRE, you will be instrumental in evolving and hardening a platform serving millions of daily visitors. Your key responsibilities include leading initiatives in platform observability and security, collaborating with development teams to resolve bottlenecks in Node.js applications, and enhancing development environments through your blend of software development and infrastructure expertise.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available systems.
Develop and improve monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions.
Automate operational tasks to reduce manual intervention.
Collaborate with development teams to build reliability into the software lifecycle.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
Participate in on-call rotations to support critical systems.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines.
Continuously enhance our infrastructure and tooling.
Optimize Node.js application performance and resource utilization.
Advocate for best practices in reliability, performance, and security.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Node.js and its ecosystem.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Solid understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and distributed systems.
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
Knowledge of microservices architecture.
Experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
Experience with on-call and production incident management.
Understanding of security fundamentals and best practices.
Where and when:
Work from anywhere—the position is fully remote in the EU. While we are flexible about when you complete your work, there are core hours (10:00 to 15:00 CET) to promote collaboration. Daily virtual stand-ups are important, but beyond that, you are free to manage your own time.
