Bilingual Medical VA Role - Remote, Work From Anywhere — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This is a fully remote Virtual Assistant role, which is good news for digital nomads — but there is one significant constraint: you must be available during U.S. Eastern Time (ET) business hours. That typically means 9 AM–5 PM ET (UTC-5/-4), which translates to afternoon/evening in Western Europe and late night or early morning in Southeast Asia.
Here's how that plays out in popular nomad hubs:
- Medellín, Colombia (COT, UTC-5): Near-perfect overlap with ET hours. An excellent base for this role with a low cost of living (~$1,200–$1,800/month for comfortable living) and Colombia's digital nomad visa available for stays beyond 90 days.
- Lisbon, Portugal (WET, UTC+0/+1): ET business hours fall between 2–10 PM local time — workable, but evenings are consumed. Portugal's D8 digital nomad visa is an option for longer stays.
- Bangkok, Thailand (ICT, UTC+7): ET hours translate to roughly 9 PM–5 AM locally — essentially a night-shift schedule, making this destination impractical for this role.
The job listing is open globally with no country restrictions stated, making Latin American destinations the most lifestyle-compatible choices. The role involves live phone calls with patients, so a quiet, stable workspace with fast internet is non-negotiable — plan coworking spaces or private accommodations accordingly. No travel-specific perks (stipends, coworking allowances) are mentioned.
