Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is not suitable for digital nomads or location-independent remote workers. The position is explicitly office-based in Sheffield, with only one day per week working from home permitted — and even that is subject to mutual agreement. Site visits, weekly on-site meetings, and close collaboration with project management and procurement teams are core requirements.

A full UK driving licence is also mandatory, and the role covers South Yorkshire and surrounding regions, meaning physical presence in the UK is non-negotiable. There are no indications of async-friendly workflows or flexible timezone arrangements.

For travellers considering this role: You would need to be UK-based and commutable to Sheffield. The car allowance or company car does make regional travel convenient, but this is workday travel to sites — not lifestyle travel.

  • Visa consideration: Only UK residents with the right to work in the UK are realistically eligible. No mention of visa sponsorship.
  • Remote flexibility: Minimal — one WFH day per week at most.

If you're seeking a genuinely remote construction or estimating role, look instead for remote quantity surveying or estimating positions at firms offering full remote working, or explore roles within software companies serving the construction sector.

Location: Sheffield (with occasional travel to surrounding sites)
