Principal Data Architect at Caylent - Remote Brazil — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Remote-First, But Brazil-Based: This role is 100% remote and comes with a full CLT employment contract in Brazil, meaning Caylent legally hires you as a Brazilian employee. This is excellent news for Brazilian nationals who want the security of formal employment while working from anywhere within the country — but it does limit true location independence across borders.
Schedule & Timezone Flexibility: The posting does not specify fixed hours or a mandatory timezone window. As a consulting-focused Principal Architect, some client-facing meetings will likely require alignment with US Eastern or Central time zones, but the async culture at a global remote company typically offers significant schedule flexibility. Expect occasional overlap with North American business hours.
Travel Requirement: Up to 25% travel is possible depending on business needs — roughly one week per month. This suits a nomadic lifestyle within Brazil but may require flexibility for client site visits, potentially limiting long international stays.
Relevant Perks for Remote Workers:
- Equipment & Office Stipend — helps set up a productive home or coworking space
- State-of-the-art laptop provided — no need to invest in hardware
- Annual L&D stipend — useful for online courses and AWS certifications while traveling
Visa Note: Caylent does not sponsor visas. You must already hold the legal right to work in Brazil. No digital nomad visa pathway applies here — this is a formal employment contract position.
