Traveler-Friendly Insight

Fully async and location-independent — this role is as nomad-friendly as it gets. Remote.com operates on a genuine async-first culture, meaning no fixed meeting blocks or required office hours. You plan your workday around your life, not the other way around. The only geographic constraint is APAC timezone alignment, so you'll want to be reachable during business hours somewhere in Asia-Pacific — ideally UTC+5 to UTC+12.

Visa considerations for APAC-based nomads:

  • Thailand: The Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa suits remote workers earning above the threshold. At $48K–$122K USD annually, mid-to-senior earners qualify. Chiang Mai and Bangkok remain top nomad hubs with low cost of living (~$1,200–$2,000/month comfortably).
  • Indonesia (Bali): The Second Home Visa allows stays up to 10 years. Cost of living in Canggu/Ubud runs ~$1,500–$2,500/month depending on lifestyle.
  • Malaysia: The DE Rantau digital nomad pass is APAC-specific and straightforward. Kuala Lumpur costs ~$1,200–$1,800/month — excellent value for the salary on offer.

Nomad-friendly perks: The home office & IT equipment budget, coworking space allowance, and flexible PTO make location-switching very practical. At the upper end of the salary range, this role offers strong purchasing power across Southeast Asia.
