Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is explicitly remote-first under livingHR's "Work from Where it Makes Sense" (WfWiMS) model — a strong signal of async-friendly culture. However, there's a practical constraint: eligible states are limited to FL, CO, IL, MA, NH, RI, ME, CT, GA, SC, NC, TX, and TN. This means you must be a US-based worker (or at least maintain US residency/tax presence in one of those states). Pure international nomading is not an option here.

For US-based travelers, the picture is brighter. Working from Florida, Texas, or Georgia gives you warm-weather flexibility, no state income tax options (FL, TX, TN), and easy access to major airports for trip planning. The consulting nature of the role (project-by-project engagements) could offer natural gaps between contracts ideal for travel.

Salary context for nomadic living:

  • Lisbon, Portugal: A comfortable lifestyle runs ~$2,500–$3,500/month — this salary covers it easily, but EU visa rules prevent working for a US employer on a digital nomad visa without a local entity.
  • Medellín, Colombia: ~$1,500–$2,500/month; Colombia's digital nomad visa allows remote work for foreign employers — a viable option for extended stays between US state-based contract periods.
  • Bangkok, Thailand: ~$1,200–$2,000/month; Thailand's LTR visa suits this income level, though HR compliance work may require US business hours overlap.

No travel-specific perks (coworking allowance, equipment stipend) are mentioned explicitly.
