Traveler-Friendly Insight

This role is fully remote, which is a genuine plus — but it comes with significant caveats for digital nomads. The position requires you to host live video shows across TikTok Shop, Whatnot, and eBay Live, meaning you need a stable, high-bandwidth internet connection, professional lighting, and a quiet, well-controlled filming environment at all times. Working from a co-working space or café is essentially ruled out.

Timezone constraints are substantial. Shifts alternate weekly between 07:00–15:30 and 15:30–00:00 UK time (GMT/BST). The late shift — 15:30 to midnight UK — would translate to, for example, 22:30–07:00 in Bangkok or 11:30–20:00 in Medellín. The early shift is more nomad-friendly from Western Europe or West Africa, but the alternating nature makes long-haul time zones impractical.

Best-fit locations for this role:

  • Portugal/Lisbon (same or +1 hour) — excellent digital nomad visa options, manageable COL vs. £75k OTE
  • Spain or France — close timezone, good connectivity, freelance/remote visa pathways available
  • Eastern Europe (Poland, Georgia, Serbia) — affordable COL, overlapping timezone, emerging nomad infrastructure

All equipment is provided by the company, which removes a key nomad pain point. However, given the fixed shift structure, live-broadcast requirements, and the need for a controlled filming environment, this role suits a home-based remote worker more than a traveling nomad.

💰 £40,000 rising to £50,000 base salary inside six months. Plus £25,000 a year on target. £75,000 a year on target from month six. No experience needed!

That is the base. Not commission. Not "up to". Not a maybe.

The Wessex Mint is a British precious metals manufacturer. We cast, mint, engrave and pack gold and silver under our own roof in Dorset, then we sell it live on camera to a fast growing community of collectors. No middlemen, no drop shipping, no reselling somebody else's product. Our own metal, our own dies, our own shows.

We go live globally on TikTok Shop, Whatnot, eBay Live and our own platform, so you are never limited to one room, one algorithm or one audience.

Our buyers are spread across the world and the UK community is the one we built first.

We are hiring the person who becomes the face of it. You go live, you talk gold and silver, you build a following that comes back every night, and you sell. That is the job. We teach you everything about the product. You bring the personality.

The money, in plain numbers:

  • £40,000 base from day one
  • £45,000 base from month three
  • £50,000 base from month six
  • Plus monthly challenge earnings worth £25,000 a year at target, live from day one
  • On target earnings of £75,000 a year from month six

Guaranteed salary, not a commission gamble. The challenges are on top, they run every month, and they start the week you do.

The hours:

  • Monday to Friday. No weekends. Ever.
  • Alternating weekly shifts: 07:00 to 15:30 one week, 15:30 to midnight the next
  • Eight hours live, plus a 30-minute break
  • Fully remote — your commute is the length of your hallway

Almost every live selling job in this industry eats your Saturdays and Sundays. This one does not.

What you will actually be doing:

  • Hosting live shows Monday to Friday across TikTok Shop, Whatnot, eBay Live and our own platform, selling gold, silver and collectibles in real time
  • Building a community that turns up for you, not just for the deal
  • Learning the product properly so you can answer a serious collector question without blinking
  • Running the show floor: pace, energy, offers, banter, and closing
  • Daily prep before you go on air and a short wrap after you come off
  • Working with our campaign and creative team to sharpen the format week by week
  • Feeding back what the audience is telling you, because you will hear it first

Requirements:

  • Someone who lights up on camera — warm, quick, confident, hard to switch off
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • The stamina to hold a live audience for a full shift and come back and do it again tomorrow
  • Credibility — our customers are spending real money on real bullion; you need to sound like someone they can trust
  • Coachable — we review shows, we give direct feedback, and we expect you to want it
  • Organised enough to run your own prep and admin without being chased
  • No live selling experience required — we train you from scratch and pay you properly while we do it

Helpful, but not needed:

  • Live selling, presenting, streaming or content creation
  • Sales, retail, hospitality, promo work, acting, teaching, or anything else that put you in front of people all day
  • An existing audience of your own

Benefits:

  • Full training on product, platform and live selling technique — paid from day one
  • All equipment provided: camera, lighting, audio, the lot
  • Fully remote — camera on, commute gone
  • A direct line to the people who own the business — decisions here take hours, not committees
  • Real progression — we are building live commerce across four platforms and three continents, and we promote from inside

The Wessex Mint is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from everyone and we hire on ability alone.
