Remote Digital Physiotherapist UK - Doctor Care Anywhere — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
This role is fully remote, which is a genuine advantage — but there are meaningful constraints for location-independent workers to understand before getting excited about the 30-day work abroad allowance.
Timezone and schedule constraints are significant. Shifts run Monday to Friday, 8am–8pm UK time (GMT/BST). You must commit to a minimum of 16 hours per week of live patient consultations — this is not an async role. You need to be online and available within those fixed UK business hours, which limits workable destinations to European timezones (e.g., Lisbon, Amsterdam, Warsaw) or at most UTC+2. Southeast Asian destinations like Bangkok (UTC+7) or Medellín (UTC-5) would make most shifts either very early morning or impossible.
The 30-day work abroad allowance is a real perk, but practically applies best to European nomad hubs. Portugal (Lisbon), Spain, or the Canary Islands are ideal — all within 1–2 hours of UK time and with active digital nomad visa programmes.
Salary context: £54,000 FTE is comfortable in most European nomad cities. In Lisbon, it converts to roughly €63k — well above local median, covering co-working, accommodation, and lifestyle with ease. Even at 16 hours/week (pro-rata ~£21,600/year), costs in Lisbon or Warsaw remain very manageable.
- HCPC registration is a hard requirement — this role is only viable for UK-registered physiotherapists
- No equipment stipend mentioned; you'll need a reliable video-capable setup wherever you work
