Remote CSM at Samsara - US-Based IoT SaaS Role — Columbus
Traveler-Friendly Insight
Location Restrictions Are a Key Consideration Here. While this role is labeled remote, Samsara explicitly excludes a significant number of major US metros and states — including California, New York, Texas metros, Colorado metros, Washington D.C., and others. This means you must be a US-based resident in an eligible state, which significantly limits true location independence.
Timezone & Schedule: As a Customer Success Manager serving US enterprise clients, expect to work primarily during US business hours (Central/Eastern time overlap is likely). This is a client-facing, relationship-heavy role — async-unfriendly by nature. Executive business reviews, customer workshops, and cross-functional collaboration require synchronous availability. This is not a typical async-nomad-friendly position.
Salary vs. Nomad Cost of Living: The OTE range of $65,598–$88,200 USD annually translates well in lower-cost US cities (e.g., Tulsa, Boise, or Nashville — eligible metros). For context, if you're based in a low-cost eligible US city:
- Lisbon, Portugal: ~$2,000–$2,500/mo comfortable living — but a US work visa arrangement would be required, not feasible with this role's US residency requirement.
- Bangkok or Medellín: Similarly attractive cost of living, but again not available for this role.
Bottom Line: This role suits US-based remote workers in eligible regions — not international nomads. The professional development stipend is a plus, but no coworking or travel perks are specifically mentioned. If you want true location independence, look for fully globally-distributed CSM roles instead.
